My Story

Thank you for choosing to adopt or foster and aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!  **Adoption Interest Form REQUIRED via our website Rarerescue.org** ?? **Meet Minnow - Your Petite and Playful Companion!** ?? Are you looking for a paw-some addition to your family who is not only gorgeous but also has a heart of gold? Look no further, because Minnow, a stunning Black Lab/Terrier mix, is here to steal your heart! At just 1 1/2 years old and weighing a dainty 42 lbs full grown, Minnow has already shown the world what an incredible mom she is. Rescued from a rural pound just days after giving birth to a litter of puppies, Minnow's motherly instincts shone through as she cared for her babies with all the love in her heart. Though only one of her newborns, sweet Guppy, survived due to the harsh conditions of the pound, Minnow's dedication and love for her little one were unwavering. Now that Guppy has found a loving forever home, it's Minnow's turn to find her own happily ever after. This playful girl is a bundle of joy waiting to bring sunshine into your life. She gets along well with most dogs, although she can be a bit choosy with her dog friends. Minnow is also good with cats and would do best in a home with kids over 8 years of age. House trained and crate trained, Minnow is a well-behaved sweetheart who loves to explore the great outdoors. Whether it's going for walks around the neighborhood or playing in the fenced yard, Minnow's zest for life is contagious. She adores cuddles and can't contain her excitement when meeting new people. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a loving and loyal companion, Minnow is the perfect match for you. Come meet this delightful girl and discover the joy of having her by your side! ? **Location**: Spring Hill/Columbia, TN Foster home ? **Contact**: apply at rarerescue.org and we will call you! We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason.  All of our Adoptables are: Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoption BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions. PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption. Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care.  As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property. ***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
