My Story

Stud Muffin is a MAGNIFICENT looking Husky with his brown coloring and parti eyes at about 1.5 years old and 50 pounds! He is not a fan of sharing toys with other dogs as he does have a "leave me alone" attitude but won't attack another dog over the toys and has no water aggression! Stud Muffin walks fairly well on a leash, is great with larger dogs, and does have some escape artist tendencies from his past as a stray and will need a secure fence or a tether at all times while outside! He knows sit, lay down, as well as the words "no" and "stop" and is always up for sleeping in his parents bed! Stud Muffin is utd on shots, HEARTWORM POSITIVE and has received a one-year pro heart injection, and neutered! Stud Muffin's Story: Stud Muffin was picked up with five other dogs from a property near Cleveland, TX. What alerted us to the situation was a Mom husky and four babies along the side of the road completely covered in mange eating roadkill. That family of four are now named the roadkill family and can be found on our Facebook page. When our rescuers went to pick up the roadkill family, a man came angerly running out to them claiming that the family of dogs on the road were his dogs and that we were not allowed to take them. With that said, they started speaking and found out that there were several other dogs on the property including two German shepherds (both laying in their respective "houses" dying and Stud Muffin who was simply running around the yard). Things started to get heated as we took pictures and documented the state of the dogs on the property and just before things got to the point where our rescuers were in danger, they snatched up two of the babies as that was only who they were able to grab and ran away before any guns came out. A few days later, our team went back with more reinforcement to get the remaining dogs. We were able to pick up one more puppy (now named Delores), the momma (now named Sade), one of the two dying German Shepherds (now named Dierdre), and Stud Muffin. The stories of the other babies can all be seen on our Facebook page if you are interested in following their story or donating towards their care. Stud Muffin, though the best off, still has issues and you can tell he was not properly taken care of. So far, he has been nothing short of scared of people and other dogs. He isn't a fan of males (but once he gets neutered, that should hopefully help some) and has been completely under socialized. Whoever adopts this deserving boy needs to be fully aware and understanding of his life prior to safety as it will allow them the opportunity to better understand his needs and how to help lead him towards the life he always deserved. Stud Muffin's adoption fee includes transportation to the midwest, northeast, or southeast!
