My Story

Gabby's world changed in an instant. She and her roommate, Vesper, were brought to Safe Haven after their human parents unexpectedly and tragically passed away in a car accident. Suddenly left without the home and family they had always known, Gabby's life was turned upside down and she found herself navigating a heartbreaking new reality. Safe Haven welcomed her with love and care, giving her a safe place to land while she begins to heal. Through it all, Gabby has shown quiet resilience and now this sweet girl is hoping for another chance. Gabby (DOB May 2023) is a petite beauty with the most unforgettable look. Her creamy white coat is lovely, her soft light blue eyes are stunning, and her oversized thumbs make her extra adorable. Her coloring is truly one of a kind - especially the little patch on top of her head that looks just like a short haircut with the cutest brown bangs. She has a face that will make you smile the moment you see her. Being fairly new to Safe Haven, Gabby is still figuring out what this new world means. At first she was very nervous and found herself a safe hiding place in the adoption room. Now when you walk in and call her name, she peeks her head out and comes right over for pets and attention. Its like watching a different cat appear. She becomes curious and playful, carefully exploring the room before coming back for more snuggles. One of her sweetest little habits is standing up on her hind legs to snuggle into your hand for pets. When shes ready, she slips back to her cozy hiding spot, although volunteers have recently seen her come out of hiding on her own and find a quiet place to nap. We truly believe that as Gabby continues to feel safe and gains trust, she will blossom into a wonderfully affectionate companion. She has the gentlest personality and such a beautiful spirit. Were still learning how Gabby feels about other cats. She shared space with Vesper in her previous home and they cohabitated in a kitty condo when first arriving at Safe Haven, but they are not bonded and mostly just tolerate each other. In the adoption room Gabby is still taking her time and hasn't made any feline friends yet which is no surprise after everything shes been through with only a short period of time at the shelter. She is not confrontational and prefers to keep to herself. Her life changed so suddenly, and shes still finding her footing. Gabby has been through a heartbreaking upheaval, and we are hopeful that very soon her life will turn a corner once again - this time towards comfort, stability, and a loving home of her own. Please consider giving this beautiful girl the fresh start she deserves - and a forever home where she can be safe, cherished, and loved for the rest of her days.
