My Story

This guy is a REAL hero! His owner was hospitalized unexpectedly, and left Hero and another canine locked in the house without telling anyone. They foraged on their own eating whatever they could find in the home for many days. They were surviving on their own. It was not until Hero broke out of the house out through a panel near the A/C out of desperation and starvation, was it then identified that his companion canine was in kidney failure. He saved that canine's life! Hero in starving, ate some non nutritional material he found in the home, so that had to be surgically removed. He's healed and ready to be another member of some loving family. Hero needs a hero. That hero can be YOU! Hero is a 5 year old young lad and just under 50 pounds. His eyes just stare longingly at you. He is nervous and scared and has no idea how he ended up in a noisy and overcrowded shelter, but we are glad he is now safe. Look at that face and his soulful eyes. His facial markings are a little brindle and so nice. We are literally out of space. Please help us save lives, by adopting, fostering or donating to the Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter, Inc. . to help us with off site boarding, food and medical expenses. We greatly need and appreciate the community's help. A meet and greet is required with any other dogs in the family. Please consider saving a life by adopting our sweet Hero. He needs some love an attention like so many others in our very overcrowded shelter. Adoptions free up space that another dog can take, so you are saving two lives. If you have room in your heart and home for this soulful lad, please consider adopting him. If you are unable to adopt, but know someone who might just love Hero, please share his post over and over.
