KAI IS LOOKING FOR A FOSTER OR ADOPTER! Meet the beautiful Kai. Kai is a pure bread, red Shiba Inu. Kai came into the shelter’s care after being injured by a car. He sustained some injuries to his tail and backend. We named him Kai which means the sea, restoration & recovery. Kai is a typical Shiba Inu, which is an ancient breed and isn’t for everyone. Shiba Inu’s are very intelligent, independent, and can be aloof at times. They can be hard to train. Shibas can be escape artist and not always fans of strangers. Kai has done very well with staff at the shelter. He enjoys head scratches and pets. He is very sweet and full of funny Shiba personality. He is quiet most of the time but will make all sorts of Shiba sounds including the infamous Shiba scream when he wants. He is very house trained and very clean. He would do well with older kids and we think with proper introductions he’d be open to other dogs in the home.
